Beneath this scratched, scuffed surface & dull anodising is a beautifully designed and made vintage component that we can transform...
and yes it is the same Chorus seatpost.
...into something that is visually stunning, would grace the very best of 'Best bikes', & with a bit of 'tlc' every now and then, will still look great in another 20+ years time.
Polished aluminium makes even a brand new anodisied surface look positively dull and bland.
It has a natural depth and lustre that any anodising just can't mimic.
Once down to the bare metal and detailed, components can be personalised with any logo's or lettering of frame builder's, component manufacturer's, cycle club, intials and surname etc.
..resulting in orange peel and graining visible on close inspection.
All work is done by hand and much care and time is spent assessing the work to carry out, what to work on and what to leave, then removing scratches, scuff marks and knocks and polishing the component up to a high standard.
The beauty of bare aluminium is that any future scuffs or scratches can be dealt with some superfine wet & dry and metal polish.
Also the shine can be raised or knocked back with differing metal polish or finishing pads as preferred.
